Today I took the chance to go watch the Women’s Tour of Britain come past in Stafford. Yesterday, on Stage 1, Katarzyna Niewadoma took off on a 50km solo breakaway to win the stage into Kettering and take the leader’s green jersey. Today the riders were doing a big loop starting and finishing in Stoke on Trent. Big name riders such as multiple world champion Marianne Vos, world champion Lizzie Deignan, Olympic track champion Danielle King, Olympic road race champion Anna van der Breggen and British champion Hannah Barnes.
Perched on the inside of an island with walled flower beds, patiently waiting, the cavalcade of police motorbikes and cars went past with the peloton smashing past in a few seconds. Naturally I took my camera and took a few shots.
The new GoPro was also in attendance for a trial, looks good!
