A French trainees from August 1st

18 years-old Jade Teolis will make experience riding with the jersey of Astana Women’s Team

The entire staff of the Astana Women’s Team is currently working to organise the restart of the season. Which, if everything goes well, will take place in Italy on Saturday August 1st with the Strade Bianche. For the second part of this very unusual 2020, there will also be room for a new entry in the roster. The French youngster Jade Teolis will join the team as an intern starting from 1st August.

Teolis was born in 2002, has just finished school and is about to start university. She is currently in her second year in the junior category and is looking for a spot in the National Team of France in the biggest international events. Largely thanks also to the qualities shown in the time trials that haven’t gone unnoticed by the sports directors of the Astana Women’s Team.

The calendar of the junior activities has been deeply distorted due to the health crisis. So this agreement will also help Jade Teolis to recover some of the many opportunities to gain experience that were lost in recent months. The 18-year-old from Lyon will have the chance to train in Italy together with the Astana Women’s Team riders. And under the supervision of the technical staff. Also within international regulations, for her there will also be space in some élite international races. Here she can start testing herself without pressure at a higher level.

It is an honour to have the opportunity to race with this jersey but also with strong riders and an experienced staff, it is really motivating. I admire the whole team, their cohesion and their success in international competitions. I think I can learn from each of the Astana riders.

Jade Teolis
