German trio complete 2020 roster

Kathrin Hammes, Lea Lin Teutenberg and Franziska Brausse complete the teams 14 rider roster for 2020, each signing one-year contracts.

Hammes, who rode to the overall victory at the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour in June, had the most successful season of her career to date also picking up a 2nd at the Périgord Ladies race in France.

Speaking about her year Kathrin said “For sure my highlight this year was winning the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour. Not only because we won, but because of the way we raced together as one team and executed the team’s plan. Everyone, riders and staff were part of it and that makes it even more special to win and celebrate together, especially for me on home soil.”

“It was an easy decision to re-sign, I enjoyed the year with WNT-ROTOR on and off the bike and I am excited to keep working together with everyone next year.  The team, especially with the trust of the company CERATIZIT creates a very supportive environment and I think it’s a good place to develop as a rider and become the best I can be. For next year I believe we have a strong group of riders together and I can’t wait to start training and racing with them to make 2020 an even more successful year.”

It was a year filled with success on the track for Franziska Brausse who joined our team halfway through 2019, winning the U23 European individual pursuit title, followed by the Elite European title only a few months later.

Speaking about her highlights in 2019, Franzi said “My first World Tour road race in Sweden was my first race with the team, I was in the breakaway with some big names and of course the European Track Championships where I became European champion in the individual pursuit.”

“I am staying with the team because they believe in me and allow me to combine the road with my track cycling ambitions. My goal for 2020 is to help the team in the road races, and to become an Olympian in Tokyo, with a focus on the team pursuit.”

Lin Teutenberg goes into her 3rd year with the team, each season going from strength to strength on the road and track, and playing a crucial part of many victories this season, most notably in Kirsten Wild’s victory at Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne, Lisa Brennauer winning the overall classification at the CERATIZIT Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta and the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour, helping the aforementioned Kathrin to seal the yellow jersey.

“This year was great; I learned a lot from the bigger riders in the team which meant I could develop as a rider. To be a part of Kathrin’s victory in Thüringen was my favourite moment, she was in the breakaway on the first stage meaning our race tactics for the whole week changed completely, but the whole team made a new plan and gave everything to help Kathrin taking home the yellow jersey! We worked well as a team the whole week and everyone gave their best to archive the goal of winning the general classification at the end of the week.”

Lin continued “It’s great to stay with the team for a third year, we have a great atmosphere, personally in 2020 I hope to develop my skills as a rider and help our leaders to win in the big races. I’m already looking forward to lining up with the team again and to fight together.”
