Italian duo remain through to 2020

Italian duo, Dr Erica Magnaldi and Lara Vieceli have both re-signed one-year contracts with WNT-ROTOR Pro Cycling, both of whom were a part of the team classification win at the Giro Rosa.

Dr Magnaldi who had a standout season in only her second year of racing, rode to multiple top ten results in stages of the Giro Rosa, Setmana Ciclista Valenciana and Tour of Ardèche.

“2019 was a year of growth, every race I did I got better, most importantly I learnt from each race, as well as learning to race in a big team. I’m looking forward to 2020 to try and improve in the races I had results in this year and learn how I can help my teammates better.” said Dr Magnaldi.

26-year-old Lara Vieceli from Fonzaso in Veneto, one of the key players of this year’s success, returns after having some personal success at the end of the season, with 4th place at Grand Prix International d’Isbergues and 7th place in the prologue in Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile.

“2019 was a great year for me, however my shape was up and down and I couldn’t do enough for the team sometimes when it mattered the most, however for me this is a positive thing that I can change for 2020: I will improve, but the main thing is I always tried my best and I am happy that the team recognised it and my loyalty to the them!” said Vieceli.

“I really liked the team spirit we all had, the girls and staff got along well all year. We worked well with mutual trust and respect and this is the reason why I stay in this team.”

Lara added “The last part of the season I felt self-confident again, so I want to start with this for my 2020 season! A moto I live by is ‘Always believing, never giving up!!’”

With both courses announced for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the road race world championships in Switzerland, Dr Magnaldi has her eyes firmly set on gaining selection with both parcours suiting her abilities, citing the Olympic Games as her ultimate dream.

“I’m happy to stay with the team because I know I can count on the staff who are organised and serious to make our lives as professional athletes the best. I am fond of the friendly environment, working alongside a great group of strong riders.” Dr Erica Magnaldi.
