Newport Nocturne 2018 Photos

The Newport Nocturne was an biennial race, first taking place in 1970 before stopping in the early 1990s. It returned in 2001 before once again stopping in 2014. 2018 saw its glorious return.

A women’s race started off the evening, Biemme-Juniper-Echelon’s Nikki Juniper won that race, with teammates Jo Tindley and Gabriella Shaw making up the rest of the podium.

A men’s race followed the promised to be a battle between the two biggest teams – Canyon-Eisberg and JLT-Condor. Plenty of other UK domestic teams were represented – the likes of Vitus Pro, Ribble, Morvelo Basso, Madison Genesis and Holdsworth – teams seen in the Tour Series earlier in the year.

The men’s field had plenty of former National Road & Track Champions, riders such as Russell Downing, Charlie Tanfield, Dan Bigham, Oliver Wood, Jack Pullar, Andrew Tennant & Ed Clancy.
