Today was the 15th running of the Rutland-Melton Classic – a UCI International race (1.2) that includes numerous off-road sections as it traverses the Leicestershire and Rutland countryside.
The bulk of the teams are British but each year a number of foreign teams are accepted onto the entry list – this year American Pro Continental level (the only one of that level this race) Rally UHC came over and duly won. Other teams came from the Netherlands, Latvia, France, Germany and Spain.
Rally UHC’s Colin Joyce taking the sprint in a photo-finish on the line. Runner-up was the 2018 winner, Gabriel Cullaigh of Wiggins-Le Col and rounding off the podium was Canyon DHB’s Rory Townsend.
