After Van Vleuten won the race it was to Bastianelli, Mackaij and Van den Broek-Blaak to fight for the other podium places.
From the start of the race the team could be found at the front of the race. On the Molenberg the strongest riders survived including four riders of the Boels Dolmans Team: Blaak, Uneken, Majerus and Van den Bos. On the Muur van Geraardsbergen the race exploded and the rest is history.
DS Danny Stam looks back: “It was a great race of the team, a perfect team effort. The 21 riders in the lead included four of our team. Eva and Skylar did a great job positioning them there. The riders tried to force a break before the Muur but didnt succeed. On the Muur we just missed that 1% to go with Van Vleuten. But overal a very good performance as a team, I am looking forward to the next races.” The next race of the Boels-Dolmans team is GP le Samyn next tuesday.
