Your questions answered with Coryn Rivera

This month we asked you on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages for questions that you would like to ask Coryn Rivera. After a training session, Coryn sat down to answer five of our favourites!

What are your goals for this season? (Hans van Schijndel on Facebook)

Hard question during the pandemic! Originally 2020 goals were the classics and the Olympics. But now I feel lucky if we can even race again this year, but if the postponed schedule goes to plan this year Amstel Gold Race and Tour of Flanders would be my goal.

What advice would you give to your hometown fans in the Philippines to reach such WorldTour success? (@RhyannRaile on Twitter)

My advice would be to get to Europe! If you want to ride in the WorldTour you need to try to do WorldTour races or similar. Be in or around the environment you want to be in.

What drives you to get up in the morning and go training every day? (@Mohawksk on Twitter)

I just love riding my bike! I love beautiful scenery along the beach or in the hills. I love exploring new places and new roads. I like challenging myself with efforts or a QOM. It’s easy to get up and get going when you like your job.

If there was one Filipino dish you’d want to introduce to your teammates, what would it be and why? (@kev.cycles.85 on Instagram)

Kare-kare because it was one of my favourites growing up. My mom made the best one. Plus it’s made with ox tail which I feel is uncommon and you’d never guess sometimes that theres peanut butter in it!

Did you always want to be a cyclist? (aaronb_ckn on Twitter)

When I was younger I played soccer from 4 to until I was about 9 or 10 and I wanted to play for the us women’s soccer team. Then cycling took over!
